Credit Guide.
This guide explains who we are, how we’re paid, and your rights when we provide credit assistance.
Who we are
Helal Ibrahim (trading as Royal Mortgage Group), ABN 53 207 334 229, is a credit representative — Australian Credit Representative Number 552322.
Member of the FBAA and a member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA).
Our services
We provide credit assistance across home loans, investment property, business finance, and vehicle and equipment finance. We compare options across a panel of lenders — major banks, non-bank lenders and specialist self-employed lenders — and recommend from what that panel can offer, not from the whole market.
How we’re paid
For most credit assistance, the lender pays us a commission when your loan settles — typically an upfront commission and an ongoing (trail) commission for as long as the loan remains with that lender. The exact amount varies by lender and loan and is disclosed to you, in writing, before you proceed with an application. You can ask us for this commission information at any point, before or after you apply.
For some commercial or complex lending we may instead charge a fee for service. If that applies to your situation, we’ll quote the fee in writing and you’ll agree to it before any work starts.
Our obligations to you
When we provide credit assistance, we’re bound by a best interests duty: our recommendation has to be in your best interests, and any conflict between our interests and yours has to be resolved in your favour. We also have to reasonably believe that a recommended product isn’t unsuitable for your requirements, objectives and financial situation. You can request a copy of the assessment behind our recommendation at any time.
If something goes wrong
If you’re unhappy with our service, tell us first — contact us using the details on our contact page. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within one business day and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you’re not satisfied with our response, the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) is a free, independent external dispute resolution service: 1800 931 678 · afca.org.au · GPO Box 3, Melbourne VIC 3001. Full detail on the complaints process is on our Complaints page.
